Default Electric Fan Conversion

MY SC300 was converted over to electric fans from the previous owner. Right now it is hard wired to the ignition so the fans run the whole time the car is on. Is this how most people do it when converting or do they install a temp switch to power on the fans when the car gets up to temp.

I just dont want to have to replace my fans every year because they burnt out or something. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.

Usually you would have a temp switch plus and ignition cut of. Off because if you just ran a temp switch it would still run after the car was off till the temp of the coolant came down....

yes, they can be hard wired, or temp controlled.
it is highly recommended by most to have a relay and fuse in case something happens (god forbid).
if/when i go this route, I will be using a temp controlled setup. they are cheap, and usually easy to install.

generic install instructions:

not sure where to install the thermoswitch, therostat housing, maybe?
