I have a 97 SC400 with the Nakamichi that has just started doing something weird with the volume. It is getting very sensitive with the volume ****. when you adjust up it will jump up higher than you adjusted up and come back down...and when you turn the volume down it will actually go higher and then come down. Is this a bad volume **** issue or the amp on it's way out? thanks for the help guys!

 

I have this same problem. I've been told it's just dirty contacts in the ****. needs to be taken apart and cleaned. I just haven't gotten around to doing it yet.

 

ohh i used to have this problem with my nakamichi before i changed it to a double din..

 

I have this problem too. I'll try to clean behind the **** and see if that works.

No.

As stated before, the contacts get worn and the arm that is pushed to the surface loses it's "strength" over time.

All of our cars will eventually go through the same ordeal. Upgrade if you can
