Default Inner Door Handle Failure

I'm curious to know how these fail for other people.

In my case, the handle, where your fingers pull on, broke off of the rear part where it attaches to the door panel. It seems like this would be a good candidate for reproduction, if it's possible to change just that one piece of the assembly.

Same thing for me, got the car with a broken interior handle. The plastic handle looks to be riveted to the handle assembly, so it probably takes a lot more effort just to change, or even take out the plastic handle.

I was planning on making a mold for it until i saw the rivet.

I think that there is a thread somewhere in which someone used a door handle from a GS to fix a broken SC plastic handle. It was metal and chrome and thus looked much better than the original.

Yeah I bought my SC as well with a broken interior drivers door handle. Was always a pain in the **** to get out of the car. It isn't hard to replace though. Just take off the door panel and snap the replacement one on and bolt everything back up. I tried gluing the broken piece back onto the door where the rest of the handle was and went for inspection and they were like "yeah, uh, you're not gonna pass with that glued door handle so you might wanna replace that" Oh well, was worth a try lol.

"They" inspect the INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES???????????

What about the cd changer?

God, I'm so glad I don't live in a state where "they" (and I just know these are public employees) have the authority to inspect, much less pass or not pass, every and anything in the name of regulation....

Good luck with that!

Cheers!
