Default Where to start with the A/C

Okay well its summer here for a while now and its hot at hell some days getting into my SC. My A/C isn't very good but I don't know where to start to fix it. Iv searched some and some people talk about flashing or something. My A/C does not give me any error messages it works fine just isn't cold. It becomes cool after a few minutes but far from cold and my windows being down do a much better job.

So I ask where should I start in the process of getting this fixed?

Have a shop drain and refill the freon/dye and see what it does.

Help us help you ... give more specifics:

What model car do you have?
What YEAR do you have?
If prior to 1994 have you converted to R-134a?

Buy some freon with dye and inject that into it. Check for obvious leaks with a black light. If it doesnt last very long, maybe a few days or so, you have a big leak. If you cant find it under the hood with the light, it may be in the dash, behind the ABS pump. Mine had a leaking seal on the front of the compressor and the condensor..
