I Should Have Checked The VIN.....

Chalk it up to a lesson learned. My last SC was a rebuilt car and the shady seller didnt disclose it until the last minute. He went so far as to tell me in advance it was a clean title. I made an executive decision to go thru with the sale, albeit not at the asking price. There was pretty solid and got me between DFW and Socal with no issues 4 times a year. Ended up selling it two years and 20k miles later because I didnt want to dump significant mod money into it with the title. If you plan to keep the car and drive for a good long while, then you're fine. If this was suppose to be a project where you're dumping loads of money into the car, then Id find another one for peace of mind and resale.

I bought alot of cars with salvage titles with no problem at all. If the car is doing you great just be happy with it. I think $4500 is a pretty good deal for the stuff it has. From the picture it looks nice. Im sure you were happy before you knew about the title.. if so then you might have made a good purchase!. Next time make sure to check everything before you buy.
I have been screwed over before by a car that the guy sayed he lost his pink slip but filled out the paperwork before hand for me to get a new one. Paperwork look legit all the correct signatures his name and everyone elses name. I payed him. I went to the dmv and the car had a LIEN ON IT!! The guy then refuses to answer my calls and I go over to his house, and his MOM comes out and tells me hes not home (covers for him) and im like WTF this is how you raise your son? I called the cops and they were no help (I thought it was a crime to sell something that is not yours i.e FRAUD) but the cops told me no crime was committed and walked away. In the end I had to find the LIEN holder and pay the end balance ($600) of the car and they released me the pink slip.
So you sir... are lucky =)
