Its really possible. I dont even think he shot a clear on it. It just takes time. Rather then mastering a perfect spray. Your luck depends on prep and sanding each coat for the next.after the final coats. Just layer it on think with a clear coat. Color sand. Then buff.

take it to a ppg or icar certified place you should do all your body work and prep primer work so they can throw some sealer, base, and clear...call it a day
