This is awesome. Reminds me of my old *** early '80s cressida my dad had. So Vadim540i, its as simple as removing the climate control and radio and just replacing the bulbs? Is it difficult to take apart the radio? Ive never done that...so not to sure how that goes. Thanks.

Edit: which ones need to be soldered?...if not all. Ive never worked with lights in the center console so yea. Thanks though.

I only changed/soldered the ones that lit the LCD displays. Buttons as simple as removing the blue condoms from them lol. Radio is super easy. Get it out from the car, separate it from climate control, and then remove screws on the side of the faceplate of radio (one screw per side = 2), Remove faceplate and you're ready to solder. To remove condoms you will need to remove circuit board from faceplate which is very easy too. Don't be afraid you won't damage anything if you at least once took apart any kind of electronics and have common sense

Ive taken apart several gameboys and psp's in my day lol. Well this seems like a simple enough project. By removing the "blue condoms" from them...that means i dont need to replace the bulb at all?

Did you get the idea for the shifter from the e46 and the 540 ?
I was amazed by those a couple years ago when I first rode in one.
