Default 2jz tt mounts on 1j sc...question

I just purchased 2j tt mounts because i did some research and they are supposed to work. Now that they arrived they look alot bigger and longer than sc oem mounts. Does anyone have personal experience with this setup? and do I use the old 2jz ge mount brackets or the brackets from the 1jz motor?

Any help would be appreciated!!!!thanks

Certain years of 2jz have different sizes of mounts and brackets. I'm guessing the ones you got are like on the far right, and the brackets are like the ones in the center. You can either get mounts like the center ones, or get shorter brackets (I think from 93.5-~95 or so supra) I would double check on the year though.

EDIT: I think all 1jz's use the short mount tall bracket combo. That's how my 2jz-ge and my 1jz were, so I used mounts from a 98 supra and they were the short ones.

pretty much. Your better off selling the pair you have and buying the correct mounts.

I used those mounts and the motor mount brackets from a 92SC3 when i first did my 1JZ swap and it worked great i didn't have any issues with the mount or the brackets.

the long mounts that you have come from the 93.5-96 supras

if you bought them from a toyota dealer go exchange them for mounts from a 97-98 supra (they will be the short mounts you need, and there cheaper)

ok.... So 2jzge brackets do not bolt to 1jz engine. The exhaust side works but the intake side does not bolt up. So there goes that idea. And my 1jz mounts brackets are shorter then my GE brackets but I dont know if they are short enough to use the larger 94 supra mounts

HHHHHHHHHHHHeeeeeLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPP!!!!!! please

Lightbulb

The exhaust side bolts up but the bolt holes on the intake side are not even close to lining up.
My 1jz brackets are shorter and with the 94 larger TT mounts i measured about 1/2 in. taller compared to the GE bracket and mount. Is that 1/2 in. going to cause problems?

*****Update*****

Short brackets with the large mounts. Did not work. Front of engine sits up to high and transmission and other things dont line up.

I guess i'm going to try to put the smaller mounts on these same brackets and see what happens.

So i just installed JDM GTE 6speed in an SC300 using the TT long mount and TT motor mount bracket it was a PITA to get the mount studs to fit in the subframe but it did and the motor doesn't sit lower in the bay.

I got It figured out......... The brackets on my 1jz were actually supra brackets not soarer. I had to use my SC brackets and mounts. I did not notice that their is 6 different holes for the motor mount brackets. I just had to re-position my sc brackets and everything worked out.

thanks
