Uneven Tire Ware!
After putting on my supra kyb shock and tein springs, I got some brand new tires put on the sc300. This was about 2 months ago. Tire specs (245/3518, and 265/35/18 on 9.5 and 10 wheels) Dunlop Sport Max and Sp9000
I got an allignment done right away to factory specs. After the car was done with the allignment, I asked the guy if everything was alright and if the camber was really messed up. He said no, just toe was really out of specs. Im thinking to myself, thats good that toe is fixed and camber is straight. Well fast forward to last week. I notice some extreme tire ware (5k miles later). I brought it back to the allignment shop to see if everything was in spec.
Toe was to factory specs, but the guy never bothered with the camber as the camber bolt was rusted and he couldnt get it to move (now he tells me).
Camber up front is -1.75, and rear is -2.75, toe being .44 totalled which is closed to factory specs I believe. If toe was to factory specs, why such tire ware? I thought toe was the main reason for uneven tire wear? Should I try to Zeroed out the toe? Or is that too much negative camber? Rear tires are shot. Half of the inside of my rear tires are gone. The front however wear only on the inside edge.
The car drives striaght and doesnt pull or anything.....

The SC runs quite a bit of toe in for the rear end. What is the toe in the front? Normally camber isn't an issue until you've hit -2.50 degree and seems like you're over that. You cannot use factory spec because your suspension behaves different dynamically even if your static specs are the same as stock. Different geometry requires different numbers.
"In-spec" means nothing. I can tell you that almost every machine out there has different ranges for what's acceptable. What shows up as red on one machine can be green on the other.
I would take it to another shop for an alignment. Seems like they half-assed the job simply because they were lazy, yet you had to pay full price.

That's written by our very own Lobuxracer. You should PM him, but I don't know how much knowledge he has on the SC300. But being that both cars are very related, maybe he can shed some light for you.
Look up the lance alignment specs. But you have a camber issue. If it was toe then your would see feather like wear or scalloping look to it. Camber just wears the inner or outer section of the tire depending if its neg or pos

thats the link i posted....i just want to see other peoples allignment specs right now with similar setup with less tire ware...e
I was going make a new thread until I saw this one.
I have a 98 SC300 with MKIV TT wheels and stock SC springs/tokico blues. The rear tires are beginning to feather on the insides and it's becoming quite annoying because of the sound they make. I noticed the fronts are barely starting to feather.
I had it aligned right after I had the new tires put on. Since they are bigger wheels should they have aligned to the specs for a MKIV supra or does it matter? The car drives straight but it now makes that "wuh wuh wuh wuh wuh" sound going down the road.
