Hello my name is cory dunkin and I have started work on my 92 sc300 and I found out that the head is warped and the valve seat are shot and I'm lookin for a new head that is in pretty good shape, so If anybody has a head they are wanting to get ride of please let me know. Thank you.
take it to the machine shop ..., valve seats should be replaced either way , on your head or the used one you buy at least i would
SEALS get replaced in head when rebuilt. not seats. valve seat is pressed into the head. it is a PITA to do and costs a lot of money.
you need to have a head machine like a serdi and cut out the old seat, then head up the head while freezing the seat, and press it in. if its too tight(clearance) it can crack the head. if its too loose you can drop the seat at high temps and high rpm. i had a vw head drop a seat before. not fun to fix especially when you use a small combustion chamber euro head. made a wreck of the piston too.
take a trip to denver I will give you one. (2jzge head) -you can pull whole motors here out of sc300's/gs300's for 150$....pm me your number if you are interested.
