LSx > all motors talked about in this thread.

Honestly an SC could be LSx'd for a lot less than 33k.

For sure less than 10k.

at least 400

its a 6 main bolt motor, spend some cash to get some rods and pistons, throw 20-25 psi at it.

^^ I'd have to agree with JDM muscle.

It'll cost me $3k to swap a 2JZ-GTE into my car without the tune-up. I'm guessing with tune-up it would cost a bit more, put another 3k into it and I have myself a monster..

+1 with the 2jz.

But props for the LS1 IS300. I remember reading a member of SF that did a swap and brought it to TX2K10 as well.

Not something you see everyday.

There is a reason why people are putting LSx's in everything with wheels and not 2j's.

This is dead on. My friend put a 2JZ-GTE into his E36 M3 and it ended up costing almost 4-times what the shop said it would. He eventually bailed out on the whole project, bought a new M3, and parted out the whole car. I personally would LOVE to have a beefed up LS1 SC, but I have better things to spend money on for now

Ugh.

Weight, size, power band, cost of parts, gas mileage. Honestly, the argument is pretty weak, because we are comparing a v8 5.7 to a 3l i6.

They both are good motors and are placed in many different platforms, and if you shop around can be had for similar prices if you shop around.

Those valve covers are awesome. Most people who do lsx swaps and are lacking those covers purchase them.
