Update! someone please check this video out and tell me what you think? what you are seeing is the broken piece of my drive shaft above my exhaust pipe(lol that funny exhaust pipe that is not rusted up yet is where i deleted my CAT). Please keep watching the whole video and you will hear a strange sound twice. That sound only happens when i put it back into park. This is what i did once i started the car...
1. i shifted to every gear(it switched the same prior to the incident)
2. I then put it into 1st and lightly let off the brake and that is when the drive shaft first started spinning.
3. I put it into reverse and then lightly let off the brake and the shaft spun again.
4. I put it back into PARK and the was when the odd sound occured.
5. I then put it back into neutral and then back to park which was the second time the sound occured.
can anyone tell me... if my tranny is screwed? On my diagnostic testing i did in the video as you can see the gears seem to work well. No actual problem aside from that sound...

I can't tell whether or not that noise isn't just the sound of the broken driveshaft rattling around. Personally, I wouldn't have run it without first removing the driveshaft completely from the tranny...too much risk of collateral damage with that broken shaft section flapping around. Since you need another one anyway, why not just remove that one and run through the tranny gears again and see if it still makes the noise. It is quite possible that the driveshaft is all that is damaged. If it quits making that noise after you remove the DS, I say just get another, install it, drive it VERY gently to test it out at first.

Oh naw its all off now. hehe i can see how that looks pretty dumb leaving that part on but i am very short on time(was almost ready to start looking for another car and parting current SC) and actually that piece of the shaft wasnt hitting anything its pretty solid in that position even when i shake it with my hands(if you use your mouse to slow the video down you can see the shaft spinning very clearly). after talking with a few ppl i realized that if theres no drive shaft to spin the rear wheels there is also no brakes to stop the tranny from spinng... Therefor when i go from REV to Park the the tranny is still going reverse even when i hit the brake which lead to some grinding and i will not be starting the car again until i have a shaft on.

can anyone tell me if buying a used driveshaft over 100k reliable if i also replace with new couplers, tranny/motor mounts? I can't find a decent driveshaft and i am having zero luck with the couplers. I may gotto the dealership for brand new couplers and mounts. but i am not looking to break my wallet buying a D/s from the dealers.

Just wanted to update on this thread. Aliga hooked up me up with a good drive shaft with good rubber couplers that i am waiting on comin in. My tranny is still good which is a load off my mind. I do believe it was not my tranny that snapped my shaft. I have come to the conclusion that i put alot of stress on my driveshaft and with bad couplers and motor mounts my shaft just snapped(not sure if that is what really happen but seems most likely). I will be ordering those Megan Motor/tranny mounts and hope that will take some stress off of my whole drivetrain. Not to familar with Megan Racing products but if anyone has .2 cents to throw in about em that would help me and im sure many others out there. EVERYBODY THAT POSTED IN THIS THREAD I JUST WANT TO SAY THANKS!!
