1jz engine problems
1jz engine problems
hey guys, its seems to be problem after problem with this 1jz!!!1 Well I hope some of you can give me some insight and advice. What I am having problems with is, that my car starts fine in park and neutral, but when I **** it into reverse or drive the engine dies!! Also if the engine is warm or hot, it will not start, I'm not sure if their related.
I am getting a code 14, ignition signal, I believe. but it starts perfectly fine when cold!!! I replaced the main relay, crankshaft sensor, and one cam sensor. I previously had code 13, until I changed those sensors.
Has this happened to anyone?? Also what could go wrong or be bad when it gets hot, making the car not start back or shift into drive or reverse without dying.

are you familiar with open loop closed loop? try removing the temp sensor or 02 sensor and see what happens. my moderately educated guess is that there is a sensor problem/ground/ecu/timing if you own a dvom and have a average iq you can find the solution. the basic theory of internal combustion engine paired with modern fuel injection isnt rocket science. i
Well for me, I tried everything. I changed my crank sensor and I changed one cam sensor. I used my multimeter and tested the two cam sensors and they were fine. But those symptoms would be because of a possibly bad cam sensor or crank sensor. I then used my multimeter and tested the actual plugs that plug into the 2 cam sensors. There was my problem, their was a break inthe wire or it was shorted and was grounding out. I rewired the plug directly to the ecu and it worked perfect. It was my rear cam sensor that cause all this.
Also my car is a SC300 with a 1jz swap.
