Default Why?!?!?

The question is why is everything so expensive for our cars??
for ex. new headlights would be about 900$!!!!! WTH MAN!!??
so whats the most you've ever spent on replacement OEM parts for your SC??

1.) Well, parts are that expensive if you go to the dealership and buy them.
2.) Two words, luxury cars.
3.) You can get the parts for cheap in great used shape from sellers on this forum such as aliga, quickGS300, and a couple other people. Check out the SC300/SC400 classifieds section.
4.) You can also find parts on eBay for cheap, or even on Google for that matter.
5.) NEVER buy parts from a dealership. The only people that should buy parts/labor from a dealership are old people who don't know their *** from their elbow about cars. This goes for younger people who also don't know their *** from their elbow about cars.

Personally, I've never bought anything from the dealer unless it was for a fair or decent price.

Shop around and compare prices, you should be fine.

Hope this helps.

I've had two SC's and probably spent $240 on headlights each time, trying to find a clean used set. so about $480 just in headlights,

my last black interior SC, i spent alot refreshing the interior, having all the gauges, needles, climate done in white, along with replacing door actuators, oem 3 spoke steering wheel with airbag, new upper door panels. i probably spent a over $1500 just on little things like that in the interior..

let me wh0r3 it just because i miss it lol

this is why i haven't done much to my GS, i know once i start going down that path it's nothing but $$$$ and more $$$$ lol

Shoulda just bought used (through aliga). Only OEM part I've replaced was my brake light in my spoiler and instead of paying $150 through the stealership, I got a used one for almost 1/3 the price that works fine.

Yea if u go to the dealer it is going to be very expensive that just the way it is with luxury cars. Personally i have yet to spend a dime on a replacement part on either of my sc300's besides normal wear parts. So that is how i justify the price on them.

Mann..I shed a tear each time I see that SC, who did u end up selling it to again?? As far as the parts search around like everyone said..The only thing I purchased at the dealer was new headlights, $280 each side..I spent hours and purchased 2 used sets but I wasnt satisfied until I got brand new ones
