Default Battery Light issue

sup once again CL.. I have a problem with my battery light coming on recently. I have a fairly new alternator 3 years old probably not too many miles on it and it looks great and brand new. I got my battery tested at autozone and they said its good and I also did a voltmeter check on the alternator and it read about 14.xx while the battery was only 11.xx so im assuming the alternator is not the problem, which sucks because I just found a sweet deal on one for $40 tomorrow I was plannin on getting...

Anyways, so it all started about a week ago and I noticed the lights dimming at first so once I finally got home I turned the car off and sure enough it woulden't start. The only electrical mods that I have done recently (last month) are the 12v Fuel Pump mod (faulty fuel pump) and install an HID Kit I bought from a well known manufactor of this forum... neither of which I suspect are the problem. Once I got my battery back from AutoZone it was charged to about 14.xx or so and once warm the battery light went off. I started to check the meter again and turning on/off the headlights to draw power and sure enough it started falling fast and the light came right back on. I start winter semester monday and REALLY need to get this fixed before then.

ANY HELP/input IS APPRECIATED!! THANK YOU

//edit Just checked ALT fuse, no problem there.

I had the same issue at one point... Seems like the diodes in the alternator failed. But the autozone "alternator tester" kept saying it was good. So I just replaced it and I was good.
