Default LED Questions

I was just wondering if it is possible to put aftermarket LEDs in any part of our SCs, or any car for that matter? Like I was trying to figure out if it is possible to have aftermarket LED bulbs that have the same bulb base to fit in the stock bulb sockets such as brake lights, parking lights, sidemarker lights, turn signals, etc. Could I just put an aftermarket LED bulb with the same bulb base as stock and put it in my brake lights and have it function the same as the stock halogen bulb? I just don't want to buy LEDs and have to do special wiring or anything to make them work. Any help? Thanks.

Yes, but it will throw the taillight warning in your cluster due to low power draw

it wont throw the warning if the bulbs have the proper resistors built in

Well I guess it doesn't really matter if I put LEDs in my stock tail bulb sockets because I already have the tail light warning light on because my car came with a high mount 3rd brake light in the back windshield and I took it out when I put a stock wing on with LEDs. How bright would these be though if I were to do that? I mean if they still function thats awesome, I don't really care about the warning light cause I'm used to seeing it all the time lol. Anyway, what kind of LED bulbs should I buy to put back there for the most brightness? High-power, M-SMD, etc?

you wont just get the tail light out warning light... you will get ""hyper blinking lights" fast blinking turn signals.. which is not for all folks.. up 2 you. they are alot brighter but the fast clicking sound is annoying. I use only SMD/SMT they are the brightest i have seen so far.

i had LED tail lights before, full LED conversion in 93 tails. i must say it brought those guys back to life, the instant on -off was a great look. but the tail light warning didn't grow on me so i took them back out and replaced stock again. now i have 97 tails with the hyperflash. we'll see what i plan to do to fix that but LED's might be in my future

I already have the hyperblink lights lol. I have 95-96 tails in my 94 SC300. So trust me, I already know what hyperblink is like, and it sucks lol.

How did you do the full LED conversion? Did you just put the bulbs in the stock sockets or did you custom make your tails into LED light bars or something like that? Or is there tails I can buy from a place like eBay that already has LEDs in the tail housing as one whole kit? Because I've looked and haven't seen anything quite like that yet...

I think it would look cool to replace my tails with LEDs. What is attracting me to doing it is the whole instant on/off thing about LEDs. I love how it looks.

www.superbrightleds.com

This will be where you will want to look:
http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...sp=%2F1157.htm

Here is a complete list of all of our lights and their OEM light bulb number:

92-96: http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...RG-Results.htm

97-00:http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...RG-Results.htm

I currently have 194 style LED license plate light bulbs in "cool white" which give it the blue-ish look that the newer Lexus' have. I also have the H3 fog bulb with 9 LED's for each fog light, so 18 total LEDs for fogs, had to modify my fog light housings though. i like them so far. Got them from SBL.com
