Default WTF, my Hyperco spring cracked?!

There I was, knee deep, at 2AM listening to my car start chunking, then start shaking, then the steering went iffy, slowed down, stopped...
...3 lug nuts had popped off...got my car the next day, lugged it up, drove it home...bought all new lugs and replaced them today only to find that my rear right Hyperco spring (GixxerDrew setup) had cracked and the top half wasn't even touching the top hat...WTF.

I did just that, was suprised to talk to a real person first off, then she gave me a Return Authorization #, then told me to mail in the spring in which case they will send me another one. Pretty easy all in all, except when i tried to take the spring out the top bolt (the one accessible in the trunk), stripped, so had to take it out from the bottom.

Yikes, that's why it's always good to listen to your car. Some people ignore signs like that and end up in a very dangerous situation.

got top screw off, have to get it re-threaded (grrr), they said once they get it should be back to me in a week. For the record, I bought it off someone on here, not blaming him...but springs don't just 'crack' out of nowhere...do they?

Wellll new development, got the spring sent in to Hyperco, haven't heard from them yet.
NEW PROBLEM, the top of the strut, where the top nut goes on, is stripped so now I've got to send that to Bilstein...yaaaayy no SC is pissing me off, road rage is intensifying without my car somehow.
