fuel leak help
Hi I was trying to change my fuel filter and the nut going to the filter is all stripped and won't tighten the line up anymore. I have gas coming out. Can someone help me asap. What can i do
i had the same trouble with my filter, i just went to the parts store and got some hose and hose clamps and cut the old filter out nut and all and replaced them with the hose/clamp setup, as far as the leaking fuel i didnt have to deal with a leak because mine started to torque the pipe before even cracking the nut open, but depending how big the leak is you may be able to take a bar of soap and kinda grate it or force it into where its leaking, i heard soap hardens and seals small leaks temporarily in fuel systems, but also dont drive the car like that (super unsafe)... GL hope you solve your issue painlessly
you MUST use flare nut wrenches and be super careful when working with gas lines and hydraulics lines. My advice is to only fix it the right way and that is with the proper section of fuel line (and perhaps a new fuel filter) that is needed either from a junk/parts Lexus or from the Lexus dealer. Watching a SC burn to the ground because of a make shift patch repair on a fuel line would be a very sad sight. Also houses have been known to burn down when said car is parked in the garage.....
Teflon tape that is made for fuel lines work great too. You can find it at home depot.
Before doing this, you should spray pb blaster and let it sit for a while. Flare nut wrenches are a must to prevent any rounding of the fittings.

I found this sc300 on craigslist that is parting out so i'm just going to buy the whole fuel line. Any idea how much it's worth? Has anyone ever replaced this line? Is it a hard job? Thanks
