if anyone is interested. a few buddies of mine that have show cars use earth magnets to mount the plates. what they are is basically extremely strong magnets. they glued a few earth magnets to the inside of their bumper using very strong adhesive and did the same to the back of the license plate. theres no issues with the plates falling or anything as you need a decent amount of force to pull it off. but not too much force that it would crack the bumper.

found this link online. http://www.indigo.com/magnets/rare-earth-magnets.html however my friends buy from a local shop here. what you basically need to do is mount some magnets probably near the rad opening in the lower part of the bumper. while on the plate mount some magnets as well. to prevent any paint chipping you can stick some foam weather strips behind the plate or any rubber/foam strip and just trim it enough so it cant be seen from the front. i'll probably do mine pretty soon and i'll make a DIY when i do.

Not trying to thread jack, but if you get your car inspected for lets say one thing, can they get you on other things when inspecting your car?

Like for example if you go get inspected for the plate, can they get you for tint, illegal exhaust mod, or any other thing even though the ticket only says your front plates were the problem?

Im worried cause my volvo is not up to being completely legal.
I was afraid of this too, i was with my brother in his 1986 chevy pickup the other day, got ticketed for no front liscense plate, window tint, playing a movie on a screen while driving (flip up headunit) and too loud of exhaust, (only straight pipes on then). So yes, they can give you as many tickets as they want.
