thanks buddy!
yeah, i realllly found a good deal. but as it goes for all used cars you dont know what your realllly getting. within the first 2 weeks i had a laundry list of things that didnt work or items that needed replacing or fixing immediately. however i overcame that, bought a bunch of bolt on goodies and pretttty soon ill be ill have it sitting to where i want it to be for now.
found my thread saver - file for 1.25 pitch threads and worked the ball joint and castle nut. i was able to get it on most of the way, the used my impact to get the rest of the way.. so im happy to report that my sc300 is currently back on the ground, right where it should be
finishing the fmic tomorrow and getting an alignment.. thennn.. GOING TO MY BIRTHDAY PARTY! whoop whoop *real bday was thursday btw*
welllll, i worked on the fmic kit. apparently its not as plug and play as i had hoped. if you didnt see, i found the piping already pre cut and welded on ebay for 100 bucks with a intercooler. i figured it was all there but it was missing a few pieces.
i hit the biggest snag with the driver side because the piping is bent and cut into a very odd form. since i had no pictures of how it was installed we tried making it work either way but still had a good 6inch gap between the intercooler and pipe. to remedy this we cut a piece of 3" stainless pipe and got another silicone coupler with t-bolts and made the gap. still debating on if this will hold up but ill be buying all new 4-ply 200psi rated couplers since these are all mixed and matched colors.
next mods:
hks hi power 3" exhaust going on next week
aluminum radiator - got a radiator flush today because mine reallyy needed it.
brembo rotors
safc2
Looks like a new penny. You got a heck of a good trade, what was the other guy thinking? Who cares? Great find and thanks for sharing the photos and your upcoming progress on your DIY's.
sits pretty flush, i think it looks great. the spot above it is where im going to eventually install the hks boot controller, since its the same dimension as the timer.
the last pic, its not actually mounted. i finished it after teh sun went down so ill install it tomorrow and get more pics.
