Default shift solenoids

I'm looking a new set of shift solenoids. The guy had bought them for a toyota pickup (a340h), but he says they should also work on Lexus RWD for my sc400. Can anyone verify this?

thanks

sorry, yes they could

Just buy the sc400 to make sure that they do work.

There is only 2 solenoids for the sc400 + 1 for the "soft or hard the gear changes are"
$350aud installed with toyota type 4 fluid, gasket etc from a reputable mechanic.

Information -
Toyota Soarer UZZ3X A341E 4-speed auto

1st: 2.804; 2nd: 1.531; 3rd: 1.000; 4th: 0.705; Reverse: 2.393

the Soarer TT have a different 1st gear

hmm here on Schucks website they show it as working for a340h, a340e, and a340f.
crazy price though, I wouldn't be buying them there.

Alrighty, ended up finding a used set of these. $15 shipped
shows a340e, a340h, and a340f on there as well. Will report back how they work out, hopefully it takes care of my issue.

For some reason something is making me think that the kit in the picture wont work............it seems like I looked at that kit before and after researching it there was a fitment issue. Now I'm not completely sure if thats the same one or not, but once I get home I will check the manual and on CL to see if I'm correct, right now I'm on sat internet and is super slow.

Let me know what you find out.

I contacted makcotransmissionparts.com and they said it should work.

I thought I read some where that the A341 transmissions had more than 2 solenoids. Here is the article I'm refering to:

I found this on another lexus forum. While the car in question is the GS, both trannies are 341 series. I'm not sure if this helps or not.

I finally finished researching the error code on my GS300.

The error code was P0763D. The mechanic shop was confused since in their reference guide they only saw 2 shif solenoids. Well it happens to be that there were 2 different types of transmissions shipped with the GS300 in 1998. There was the A650 and the A341.

The A650 Transmission has 2 shift solenoids and 2 linear solenoids.

The A341 has a total of 7 solenoids.

Rostra makes shift solenoids for the A341 but not the A650. Lucky for me I have the A341 in my GS300. I was able to buy the shift solenoids directly from Rostra for $72.58 which was great. This included a kid of 2 solenoids with a braket. Lexus wanted about $250.00 per solenoid and about $1094 to install. The install is rather easy and it can be done with minimum mechanical experience on these cars. The solenoids sit right under the transmission's oil filter and just plug into place.

As a reference the part number for the shift solenoids from rostra is 52-9021. Again this is for a shift solenoid kit for A341 GS300 Trasmission to target error code P0763D in the diagnostics computer.

a341e? I keep getting conflicting reports which transmission the Sc400 has. I thought the general consensus was it's an a340e.

I'll check this weekend.
