Hi Crew

While driving 80mph I can really feel a vibration like my alignment or balancing is off on the front drivers side of the car. I also feel it at all speeds even at 40 but its less. Just had the alignment and balancing done and then hit a small pot hole the other day and started to notice this and had it rechecked and they say its perfect still

You can feel the vibration in the steering wheel and seat but the wheel doesnt shake, it's also not that bad but when the ride was perfectly smooth before you notice a little wobble now.

Also the tires have no irregular wear they are almost new and the wheel is not bent.

One thing the guys noticed is that shock is leaking oil it's the only one. Could this cause the symptoms I mentioned? does this mean the shock is blown?

If not What else could this be?

Could a bad rotor do this? I feel it on deceleration a lot

 

Usually shocks will not cause vibration. Start with rotating the front wheels to the back and see if the problem goes away. Then report back.

 

I agree on the shock not causing it

I cant move the front wheel to the back because they are staggered 20s

 

With oversized wheels, your wheel bearings take more punishment, I would check your wheel bearings.....

 

That is a good suggestion but this just started happening all of the sudden on the front driver side.

Ive had a wheel bearing go bad and there is usually some sort of repetitive sound too from it, this just seems like a simple vibration

Is it possible that they couldnt see the bent rim while the tire was mounted?
They took them all off and put on them on the balancing machine and was perfect

anything else it could be tie rods or anything?

 

Wheel Bearing/Drive shaft.
Check Them.

 

take the wheels back and get them rebalanced. Mostly vibrations come from the wheels being out of balance. Have experience with this everyday but you might want to check the drive shaft also just in case

 

The drive shaft would cause just my front drivers side to vibrate?

Would alignment have anything to do with this or any other broken suspension parts?

How can I check my wheel bearing besides by pulling on the wheel while its installed is there a real way?

Is there a way my rim could be bent in the middle and I just cant see it since the tire is covering it? They put it on the balancing machine and they all looked great and were perfectly balanced at goodyear.

Thanks guys this is driving me nuts, there's an obvious problem.

 

if they rechecked the wheel balance and said it was okay then move to what wheel bearing?

 

Lulz @ not the shock. W/ a 50 lb 20" tire & a bad shock what do you think
will happen? Tire starts hopping around causing a vibration. If the shocks
leaking it NO GOOD anyway.

OP - don't start a new thead in the classifieds WTB shock. ADD it to 1 of
the 20 WTB threads you have going.
