98 GS steering wheel on sc300 question
hey everyone i just got a gs300 steering wheel for my sc300 thanks to rocky(rcyo1) he was great and a realy nice guy i would buy from him again if he ever had any other stuff. anyways on to my question i know the gs steering wheel is single stage and goes right on but what i dont know is if the cruise control just hooks right on or if i have to modify it. i tried searching but all i found was someone that had to mod it for the sc. i havent gotten a chance to take off my wheel yet so i really am not sure. another question that i have is do i have to unplug the battery before because of the airbag and would it mess with my stock alarm.also can you use the button on the wheel for anything or has anyone done this?
You might need an airbag adapter harness if the GS wheel didn't come with it or you have a pre-99 SC. Only way to see if the cruise control switches matches up is to take the airbag off. If it doesn't you can just swap your SC one over anyways. Yes unplug both positive and negative terminals on your battery before attempting this. Press on the brake pedal a few times to get rid of all the current.
got mine from carson toyota
