haahaha, anything short of installing tank tracks on your SC will not give it better traction in the rain. its a rwd coupe. I have ran many combinations of wheels on my SC and my girls corolla is still more stable in the rain on 14" steelies. its the nature of the beast.

You're talking the opposite there. Wider tires will gain more traction than skinny tires, doesn't matter if the car is in rain, snow, or dry. It's just a simple physic that more contact surface will gain more traction along with friction.

The alignment is 1 factor, but if putting on different tires with the same alignment causing the loss of traction, then that's the tire issue. Many performance tires are for dry weather only and some of them don't have good materials and tread pattern, so that's why they don't have good traction, but not because they're wider.

I agreed with Turbodremz with what he said.

I'm running the rear 285/30/19 on my SC and the whole car drives like it's on a rail.
