Default hope for turbo sc400

here is s turbocharged sc400 from japan

The Blast Racing '93 Lexus SC400 with Tatatoshi Wakita at the controls set a new IDRC import world record with a 7.38 at 184 mph. The Toyo Tires Pro Class competitor's powerplant is a tubocharged V8 with EFI (below). I am still finding out all the details of it. Remember when the japanese racing teams started bringing over the turbo non-vtech honda's and started dominating the races? Then everybody caught on and started instroducing all sorts of things for them? If this idea catches on there will be turbo SC400 setups for 6k or less and we'll be doing 12's all day with bolt on turbos! besides my veilside has a huge opening in the front for a massive FMIC. hahahahAHAHAHAH!!

I'm on my knees praying already. Join in on my hopes.

Thumbs up Nice car

That car has been discussed before. It seems like Twin Turbo V-8's are becoming more popular. The RS6 is going to have a 444hp TT V-8  Performance should be better than the current M-5(not the next gen 5.0 V-10 though!) The Bentley GT coupe that will be coming out will have a Twin Turbo V-12 & so will the previously dicussed Maybach. It would be great to see Lexus come out with a TT 1UZ-FE like the HKS Supra(but tuned to about 550hp)

what I am happy about is that Blast Racing sc400 is based on the 93 SC400 this brings real hope to those who own the non-VVTI V8's. Does anyone know how many Sc400 were produced from inception now? I wish there was a registry for sc400 owners or something. If a good number of them were produced we should be able to get some good support. Still hoping....

Have you heard about the 1479hp HKS Supra? It is powered by a 4.3l Twin Turbo Lexus V-8(3UZ-FE). That car really shows the potential of Lexus V-8's.

all I've got to say is

"build it an they will come"

SOMEONE BUILD AN AWESOME T-TURBO (OR SINGLE TURBO) KIT FOR THE SC400 FOR A REASONABLE PRICE THAT IS RELIABLE etc etc AND WE WILL BUY, INSTALL, and RACE.

the blast racing holds no records anymore

the new RWD Celica does. 1800hp; ran 7.2 @ 199mph on the shakedown runs... good enough for 6.7-6.8

plus I dont think the blast racing SC4 was faster than Siguels 3-rotor RX-7

but fast nonetheless

ok the whole point of the thread was to point out that we have a chance of getting something for our SC400 since turbo'ing V8's seems to be cathing on the import world. Lets hope that its not only for the high dollar speed shops but for common folks like us can put it to good use too.
