3 to 5 minutes at 350deg..take them out, use gloves, pull the lens from the housing.. thats it. I have done my lights twice with no ill effects..if you can microwave a cup of coffee, you can do this with your lights

yes preheat to 350, remove all the clips/bulbs/screws/wires from the housings. Put them on an upside down cookie sheet, pop them in and go for 3 minutes, take them out, and if the lens does not come off fairly easily, pop them back in for a couple more minutes.

What would be the difference of buying the clear lens in the group buy as opposed to buying some ebay headlights with clear lens and removing them and putting them on your OEM headlights?

Ebay lenses dont't quite fit the OEM housings. There is a bit of a gap but it can be made to work. It never did look just right to me.

Pretty simple and straight forward. Use a heat gun, check my thread here as I did some thing in the same line:

You can't forget to put in a layer of newspaper so the plastic doesnt deform due to the heat from the tray it is sitting on

What I want to do is just swap the stock projector into the eBay housing because I bought hids 9006 and the new headlights came with a diffrent style bulb but I want to use everything from the new headlight minus the projector.

Exactly..

And I LITERALLY just did this to my headlights.. not hours ago.. I have a thread posted on it.. Works like a charm and is very VERY easy to do! I love CL's DIY write-ups!!
