Default IN BAD BAD shape...

I feel so bad but I have let my beautiful Lexus go to long before I should have changed the shocks and springs... But I need help.

I have a 95 sc400 when I drive it I feel like I am hitting every pothole and that it is the size of Alaska.
I looked for replacements but all I can find is KYB's and Monrws...

Can you guys tell me what else I could put on my SC400

I would prefer not to lower it or change the way it did ride when the shocks were good.

I would greatly appreciate any feed back.

Thank you
Calin

Budget $500

look in the classifieds for a part out.... or someone who modded their suspension. That would be less then 500 on a DIY project.

go to rockauto.com, they have the kyb, and a few other brands that can be had for 200-300 for a set of 4.

good luck!

if you have airbags - need the strut tops off a tt or buy aftermarket.
if you have the pov pack, go kyb struts, espilair springs(because you are in america).
also an option
shocks and springs made for jza80 supra

you can get Tokico shocks for the SC 400 at Tire Rack, TM Engineering, and other places (maybe shox.com) for about $75 each. If you don't want to lower your car, there should be no need to replace the springs. If for some reason you do replace them, Tanabe makes a nice, just barely stiffer set of springs for the SC400 that lower the car about 1 inch, within the factory camber adjustment settings. You SHOULD change the "shock boots" when you put the shocks on - they're absolutely bound to be deteriorated. They are available where you buy the shocks for about $118 all 4 corners. Since things will be taken apart, car on lift, etc. when the shocks go on, you might want to inspect or have inspected the tie rods, ball joints, etc. If those parts are worn out, just putting on new shocks might not cure your ills, and it's less expensive to do it all at once.

good luck

BTW, if you don't really want to lower the car, you don't want to go with espilir springs (pretty good drop) or Supra twinturbo components. If you do go with SupraTT stuff, you cannot mix/match - you have to go both springs and shocks.
