Default 1JZ Not Starting

92 SC300 and the 1JZ is not starting at all. I can NOT hear the fuel pump. I have full power, everything lights up. When I turn the key, I hear nothing. No crank, no fuel pump.

Checked the....
Battery
Alt
Starter

Now what.

What fuel Pump are you using ? If you are using the 255 you should hear it cycling.
Did you wire it up right?

Stock fuel pump for now(Meaning I have not touched the fuel pump at all). Just need to get the car running.

Has this engine run before or is this a swap first time startup thing?

Assuming your trying to start it for the first time:

If its not cranking, then it's not the fuel pump...it's the starter. Check both wires to the starter. Starter wire/solenoid.

Your assumption is correct. This is the first time startup, I will go ahead and check on that again.

Other than looking at it, is there anything I should be looking for?

Both wire and solenoid are on, no cuts, tears or rips throughout the line.

Couple issues to attack here.

1. Assuming the starter/starter solenoid are full up...the car doesn't know it's in Park (Auto) or NSS issue if you're manual.

2. Whack on the starter and if you can't even get a click of some sort, the solenoid MIGHT be bad. These starters usually die slowly but I guess it could have been DOA.

I'm not aware of anything related to the fuel pump/or relay that would prevent engine crank.

Blah, should have read the thread a bit more in detail.

Have you checked that you are getting 12V to the starter? It will help to determine if you're dealing with a starter issue or electrical issue.

Good point. You can also be getting power to the starter, but no signal to the solenoid. Maybe a continuity/voltage check with the solenoid signal wire. Pretty hard to get to with a voltmeter from the top though.

Is this an extended/wiring harness?

Back seat driver since Slappy and Shern answered most of it:

Meter the solenoid to the starter and then meter the power line you have going to it.

What it sounds like you have going on is that the starter signal from the ECU is not getting signal to the starter to turnover. If you are getting power via 12v and also a signal via the solenoid and no click then the issue us starter. I would first check the solenoid and "verufy" no signal. That is where my money is at. With a hybrid harness the chances would be high.

From now on zmegoby, I'll just send you my raw thoughts and you can write them. My crap sounds so confusing compared to yours. My money is on the same thing.
