Default Power steering fluid flush, How?

I have a 95 SC300 and the car has a newer power steering pump and rack. It is leaking fluid and it wines really bad. I was reading up on Supra forums and they said that this car uses ATF Dexron 2. People were saying when they went from regular power steering fluid to Dexron 2 there pump quit leaking and whining. TO make a long subject short I planned on flushing my system. anyway, does anyone know how to do this the right way? thanks

i know this is suuuuuuper old but I clicked the link and viewed the power steering flush tutorial only to realize it's for LS models. I've got a 97 Sc300, would it still be done the same way?

Yes you can do it this way. When dealerships do it, they use a machine that stores new fluid in it (like a gallon or more at once), and they connect it to these hoses. I've heard of people filling a gallon jug with ATF then running a suction hose into it, with the outlet hose going to an oil drain pan.

When I did mine, I kept all the hoses connected, and did a bunch of drain and fills in a row. First, I would suck out all the old fluid i could from the PS tank using a siphon. It's like maybe 1/3qt. Then I would pour in new fluid, exactly the same amount I took out. then I drive the car for 20+ miles. Siphon the tank again, add in new fluid. Repeat. I did this over a couple weeks because I don't drive my car daily. After I had gone thru 3qts of synthetic ATF I stopped. When I started my fluid was chocolate milkshake brown and now it is ATF red. I have no issues whatsoever, and I've done this on both my IS300 and SC300. It made a noticable difference on my IS300 because I used to hear the PS pump whine when starting the car around 15*F and after the synthetic ATF switch that stopped completely (unless the temps are closer to -10*F or more, then I get it on startup then it goes away within a second)
