They are both reliable

SC400 because I wanted alot of stock power and didn't want to mod the engine at all

But in your case I would choose to get a GED

Got the 400 because I purchased it from a friend and its pretty clean. I was really looking for a 300 because I did want to mod the engine. Maybe i'll have both in the future like t70_supra up there

the 400 is the best choice if you have nowhere near enough money to swap an engine or stuff like that. the v8 would start up if you dropped it off a cliff its the most reliable engine i've ever owned. my mom ran mine without coolant in it for a day not knowing it had no coolant and NOT KNOWING TO LOOK AT THE DASH. it was telling her to please pull over...believe me when i say NO engine damage whatsoever...as reliable as the sunrise.

however, the v8 is not as mod-friendly as the 6. so its all up to you. the v8 has awesome power stock.

I got sc3 because I simply couldn't find sc4 clean enough and with low miles. Mine is 99 and 98k miles. Really clean.

I would like to have a turbo inline six one day so the sc300 was an easy decision.

everyone biased in what they say to get. drive them both and decide what you want not what other people tell you to do. its YOUR car, YOU will be driving it not us.

This. Went to go look at my '99 SC3 at the dealership and it was love at first sight (I wasn't even looking for a new car at the time).

But yeah.. like others have said.. SC3 if you want to do lots of engine modding, SC4 if you don't. Both engines are bulletproof.

got the 400 cuz I didn't plan on doing a lot of engine mods. Mainly an exhaust and a 6 speed swap...but if I do decide to mod it whether it be turbo or charger, it's always rarer for the V8 than the 2j.
