I want to get an SC400. Have any of you checked out this one at Deluxe Auto Center?

Piece of junk? or ok?

Only $6k for a 98 sc400? Seems like a good deal if everything checks out.

The low price is good but it also worries me, dealers usually don't have low prices unless forced to.

I looked at two LS430s at that place. Both were salvage. Be careful

That car looks really nice.
Tell them you'll pay $5000 for it.

OP,

That's the same car with the same pictures (and the same funky wheels that I have). BEWARE, something is not right here. That post is from February and they still have not sold the sar at that price. If you are even considering it ... get a carfax.

Thanks for the warnings!

98+ SC400's are really tough to find around here.

I'm a big fan of that V8 engine with 5 speed automatic...so I might have to look towards the LS or GS chassis if I can't find it in a SC chassis.

I've seen that car for sale for a WHILE now. Like all others have said, be aware. Either something is really wrong with it, or its not legit.

Good Luck

Vinam Auto Repair is down the street from there. If possible, drive over there and have Tho inspect the car. He works on many of our CL member cars and tell him that Jerry with the red SC sent you.

I actually looked at this car back in Feb. They were asking about $9k back then (well they still are if you go to the dealership), but when I first looked at it the tires were flat and the battery was dead which isn't really appealing. The paint was oxidized, so it doesn't look as nice as in the pictures. I was in and out of there within 5 minutes. After I saw how they left the car parked I didn't even bother asking to look at it in detail. The only reason I remember looking over this car is because when I walked back to my car I saw someone had hit my car and took off.

I was at deluxe yesterday and I saw the car parked in the corner of their dealer, but I didn't really look at it.

I was just at Tho's shop yesterday since I was car shopping yesterday and parked in front of his shop.
