Unhappy Window Nightmare Revisited

So ive wrote on this earlier but i am having problems with my passenger window it stuck all they way down. i rolled it down one hot afternoon and it wouldnt go back up and theres was a grinding noise when i pushed the switch down, no noise when pushed up. i purchased a used regulator with motor and had it installed. About a week later same problem happened, hot day rolled it all the way down wont go back up grinding noise when push switch down, no noise when pushed up. Now to took it to a different shop and they said its best to buy new motor and regulator. Got a call today from the shop and they said it would be $650 parts and labor. I looked for the parts online and sure enough $520 for window motor and regulator. Can someone help me.

Send a PM to Aliga. He can hook you up for a fraction of that.

Where the F are you getting $520 quotes for a window regulator? Carson Toyota sells them for just a little over $100 (don't know exact current pricing, keeps changing). Remember the famous and fabled 5 pollock's that it took to change a light bulb? They can do this swap, so DIY.

$520???...damn...yeah talk to Aliga and get one from him...I had the same problem with my passenger window when I got my car...to find out the plastic roller that the cable rests on was broken(common)so the cable was just binding up in there...yeah this isn't a difficult DIY at all...phillips screwdriver and 10mm and 8mm socket i think?...just don't forget the screws on the inside door under the arm rest in the pocket or your door panel won't come off

O.L.T did a DIY on broken regulators, you might want to check it out.
