Popping noise - Two Options
There is a popping noise coming from the front right of the car when turning the wheel at lower speeds (stopped to about 8mph) or when I brake and the weight shifts.
Now my front right shock is blown and leaking everywhere and there is leaking coming from this tie rod boot:

What would be the source of this popping?

I cant see the picture, but the front strut being bad, could be bottoming out.. In other words, when it goes in to absorb the bump, it doesnt come back out quick enough, it just stays stuck in. Does this make sense? It also could be lower ball joint, a-arm bushings, tie rods, sway bar links, or even your rack going out. I'm leaning toward the ball joint, or your rack.
i think the seals on the rack are going bad. check your power steering fluid on daily basis and see if the level drops. try to check it when the car is cold.
the noise may be a few things as mentioned above. jack up the car on that side and check the condition of the tie rod ends and ball joints. you can do it with the wheel on and moving it and trying to find unusual play or movement.
also check your rack bushings. they can wear out and cause noise and lousy steering feel.
