Just a note for all you weight lightening freaks like me,the cruise control is not light weight.

 

Hahaha, I bet. I always run with it off. Then again, I drift the big guy.

 

After I put an aftermarket steering wheel on my car I removed all the cruise control hardware as well. Besides the weigh savings it really helps to clean up the engine bay!

 

I ditched the steel spare and started running 1.5miles every day . Running = the best weight reduction.

 

Talk about cleaning up the engine bay, all that crazy ABS pumps and all is crazy.

 

Im wanting to lose as much of the TRAC. control as possible if any one has expearince on parts removal and how it affects the braking system, I would like to know how many parts can be removed.

 

lol, my weight reduction went all the way down to stripping the wires...

 

Installed my 2 dist. caps and rotors and the car runs better except when it wants to act up then it bogs.

 

I am running my car with no gas to reduce its weight - also no oil

My mechanic advised me to remove the transmission and keep on driving it downhills

 

If I could find a hardtop SC400 thatd be sweet.

 

I know a guy in St Louis who custom made one - It does not have a hard top or anything, its just topless - no seriously, it is convertible

It mainly a summer car - Should be garaged all the time

 

I will be removing my abs and trac system next weekend, keep an eye out for a "how to" thread.

If all goes well, should take an hour or two and about $90 dollars worth of off the shelf parts.

^already have done and spent 86 dollars and about an hour of custom lines and so ss lines.

 

I have found that a couple people have done it but haven't found any sort of good write up on it. Found one write up on Supraforums.

I don't plan on chopping any of the hard lines. I'm just going to remove everything and use a couple of t's, adapters and ss lines to connect everything up. This way, it will be easy to put back if I ever need to.

Did you notice any difference (for the better) in pedal feel?

I think removing the TRAC alone would be a good start, the small pump and accumulator under the master cyl.
