Default SC300 - Step by Step DYI Oil Change request

Hi All,

I have a 99" 300 SC, and would like to try doing my own oil change.

Can someone give me step by step instructions on how best to perform this.

Thanks.

I just did a oil change recently should of took pictures? Well its like a basic oil change, jack the car up look for your oil pan unscrew it.. drain... dab some oil on the bolt rescrew. Look for your oil filter then yank on it till it comes out, it'll leak out oil so put your oil catcher underneath it. Stick new one on then put in your new oil. It is very very simple.

LoL please don't take the yank part literally and unscrew it. Good luck

p.s. Don't Turn The Car On Until You Put The New Oil In.

You may have to loosen/remove the lower plastic guard to place a pan under the oil filter. I believe you can reach the oil filter from the top or bottom. The top seems easier though.

also put some fresh oil in the filter before u install it. just pour in enough to were it wont spill everywhere tryin to reinstall it. also dip your finger in some fresh oil and rub it around the gasket on the filter so when it come to your next oil change its easier to remove.

when you pull your old filter off make sure the gasket came off with the filter sometimes they say on the car if you dont rub oil on it like i said.
because if its still on the car and u install the new filter and start your car oil will be everywhere.

Make sure you don't crush your oil filter when taking it out. Cuz it would be harder if u do.

first you open the oil cap on top.
take out the oil pan bolt on the bottom, let it drain most of the way.
while the last bit is coming out, you can use this time to change the filter.
put oil on the new filter gasket, install as hard as you can turn it with just your hand (snug).
get underneath and put the oil pan bolt back in.
refill your oil,

it is god practice to check your dipstick to make sure you dont overfill it . our cars take pretty much 5 quarts, so slow down after 4 or so and go slowly.
once you are done, fire it up and check for leaks at the filter and the bolt.
check the oil level once again with the engine running, it will be slightly lower, but should still be within the 2 marks on the dipstick. top off as necessary to get to the middle.

If you have a turbo/turbos, like me your car will have a larger difference when sitting and running. make sure oil shows up on the dipstick while running.
