Question Supra TT/LS400 Caliper clearance

I know this subject has been covered to death, but I can't be sure with a bunch of generalizations.

Will these wheels be able to clear the Supra or LS calipers? They are Rota D2's. I definitely know that they are 18 inch, and I'm 50% sure that the offset is +35. I'm not sure of the disk type, but I think that they are low (though this is kind of offset--no pun intended--by the spokes bowing outwards). Here are some pics.

As you can see in pic 3, for the most part, the wheels pass the 2.75" test. But in between the spokes it closes in a little, and there is about 2.5" of clearance (pic 5). The last problem that I see is that I barely have any room height wise (pic 6).. Everyone always talk about width, but is the height going to be a problem here?

Looks like your good to go. You need a minimum of 2.75 inches to clear and looks like you have more than enough, this is judging from pic 4. Pic 6 has nothing much to do with it since you already have 18 inch rims. You a minimum of 17 inch rim to clear the rotor.

You could download the brake template from Stoptech to see if that clears as well, just to be 100% sure.

Here is the link. The ST40 caliper from stoptech is comparable to LS/supra caliper, might even be bigger.

Can anybody confirm if I will need spacers or not. I'm afraid that the calipers won't fit b/c of the last picture. I know that 18s should be good, but my stock caliper is that close (see last picture) to hitting the inner circle of the rim. If you can't really distinguish depth by the picture, the stock caliper is lined up with the edge of the rim (pic 6); it is not lined up with the space behind the face of the rim.

Would the bigger caliper/rotor definitely hit this spot without a spacer?

Those wheels will not clear TT brakes even with spacers, I can assure you that.

How can you tell a spacer, like 20mm, wouldn't let it clear? As in allow the caliper to sit behind the rim.

offset doesn't effect the caliper clearance as much as the wheel's disk type does. The design of the spoke and face is everything for caliper clearance.
