My alternator was failing/failed on me. I am like 100 percent sure i had a power surge and after that i get code 13. When i start the car cold, the rpm goes up to the normal warming up rpm range but then instantly drops to 1000 rpm. After that it gives me a cel.
I rebuilt the alt and I thought the ecu might have gone bad so i replaced it. Still have the same problem. Then i checked both cam postion sensors, both good. What should i do/check next?
This is what I found for code 13, they indicate that it is probably a connection problem. I would suggest also checking the harness for signs of damage.
I have this code on now for like a year...maybe a lil longer. I could not find the solution...good luck if u find anything let me know. Mine will turn off on a cold night though...weird!
