Resize that pic in the future.

There's two thread of interest. One thread has a 19-year-old
college kid with a brand new 2002 Mercedes CL600 V12 coupe
sitting on 20-inch chrome Lowenhart LD-1s, and a Brabus gfx kit.
19-years-old with a $130,000 car on $5000 rims, and a $4000
trim.... THAT my friend, is spoiled.

The other thread has an IS300 member who's parent's bought
him a brand new house and furnished it for him including three
home theater systems and all the furniture and appliances he
needs. His parents also bought him that IS300, along with an
NSX and an Audi S4. THAT my friend, is spoiled!!

If I were rich, I would try to make life easier on my kids, but I
would also instill good work ethic by making them earn
everything I gave them and not over doing it. I mean I want my
kids to have a comfortable life, but that means a $40,000 car, not
a $130,000 one. And any extra non-essentials like rims, gfx, or
home theater he'd have to earn on his or her own.

Preach on brother. If I ever make some mad money; just that, I MADE the money, so I get to spend it. My punk *** kid will get his college paid for, and thats about it (thats more than what I got). He/she needs to earn what ever he/she has, and not have a silver spoon shoved up his/her @ss. People that have things given to them, statistically have less respect for themselves, and others. My kids will learn to respect and cherish what they have; and learn patience about life. You can't have what you want all the time. If you do, we are just breeding a society of prozac takers.

That's so true about the prozac.

I agree.

My kids are going to work for what they get just like I did.
Sure I'll cosign loans and junk and make life easier and help them out from time to time.
But I'll never buy them a car that's over $2000.

MY first car, a 1990 Pontiac LeMans, was bought by my parents.
But it cost $1100. I paid for the insurance, the gas, everything.
I intend to make sure my kids learn work ethic the same way; it worked for me.

a good book to read is "The Millionaire Next Door" .

Parents that give hand outs to their kids only destroy their own ability to become as successful.

The child's ambition, entrepreneurship spirit, WILL to be successful... will all go down the drain if you spoil your kids. why would i raise my children like that. Even if I'm rich and successful doesn't mean they'll be the same. As long as you teach them value & ethics and what it takes to get to your stage, then they will themselves on their own be able to enjoy $120k cars and $5million houses.

I'm a firm believer in giving someone a FISHING POLE rather than a piece of BREAD.

Oh helllll noooooooo!!!!!!!
I dont have any kids at this time, but if I did there i no way in hell he/she would be driving a 130,000 car unless he payed for it.
It's not about money, what are they teaching their kids??

I think the worse part is when someone is cocky about sumthing that someone gave them

Marcus, the cocky ones bother me too, but they're just compensating for small d!cks, try to understand. Legends, a fishing pole instead of Wonderbread, perrrrfect.
