Yes. Its fairly simple. The only time consuming part was crating the top cover heatshield template. I too used an aluminum sheet bought from Lowe's. I now have a template for specifically for the SC300 for those are interested or are lazy to make themselves

I am planning on building one of these ASAP but wont have time to do it right for a few weeks. However, I was thinking of doing something to get me by for a few weeks and wanted to know if it would do anything at ALL.
I was thinking of either doing just this
and leaving it as is for a couple weeks, this would result in similar effects to the K&N kist that bolt right onto the MAF I assume.
Or my other thought was basically doing the above but then running some hosing (which I have from a home project) from those 3 holes down inside the front fairing to get more air.
In your collective opinions would either be worth the effort or should I just leave it alone till I can do the whole job the right way?

Just put the lid on top, Shield on the side, Cut out the front of the box and thats it. You will notice an definite increase in intake noise (a good one) and a slight decrease in fuel consumption (depends on how you drive)

It makes the engine "breathe" better
I have it on my stock 94 SC4 - I really don't know how much difference there is in HP or power, because I did all three things together - The car is def. super powerful now, and the gas mileage is BAD!
