Does anyone have any more info on the 2003 SC300? The info was post last month that the new SC300 was coming, bet it will be an SC330 if they increase the engine size to fit the 430/330 marriage. I am interested in ordering is it is not a powerless coupe and not overpirced. Well, anyone else out there hear anything new. Thanks!!! Joe
honestly speaking, I doubt they would debut a new engine just for the SC3 -- a whole new engine, even if this was just a 3JZ-GE wouldn't be practical. Just think about it. The GS430 & SC430 -- the GS300 & SC300. There's a parallel going on. IMHO it's gonna be a SC300 with the 2JZ-GE. And as far as powerless goes -- ANYTHING witha 2JZ-GE in it will, after about $7,000, be very respectable.

Actually I have heard not only a few times on this website, but from a reliable source of my own that the next gen 6-cylinder engines will be 3.3l, so a GS330 or SC330 seems pretty likely.
So it could possibly be the 3JZ-GE engine... but toyota wouldn't roll out a special engine for JUST the SC3. I've also heard the the supra is gonna come out in the next year and a half... Maybe that'll be running on a 3JZ-GTE engine...

Right, Toyota would never waste money on producing a special engine for just one car. I could be wrong but haven't they already started using a new VVT=I 3jz- turbo engine in Japan using smaller displacement or something( i'm not reffering to the 2.5l Turbo from the old Soarers).
If anything, I think that Lexus would put a 3.3 or 3.5L V6. Yes a V6. I know that strikes a sour chord with a lot of tuners but Lexus did mention that they would be considering using V6s instead of I6s. I would put more weight on the 3.5L version since it can compete with all the newer models out there from other companies.

Very good point... the best selling point I can think of is auto press raving about a Toyota V6 dubbed the "VQ Killer" and suck the wind out of Nissan's sales in the states. However, the cars will remain slow, and I will remain unwilling to buy one till they fix that
