on the vvt-i motors the oil level sensor and the oil pressure line both have sensors right on the bolts. the turbo kit that i have uses both these bolts to feed and return. If I use them and take the sensors out of the loop, am I going to run into any issues with the ecu going into a "limp" mode? Any ideas/opinions on the issue at hand?

I haven't worked on a vvti but I would imagine the answer to your problem could possibly be why they invented the "T" fitting.

I wouldn't trust returning my oil to the spot where a sensor goes anyways. the return path is supposed to be large and right underneath the turbo. why not just properly drill and tap out the oil pan for the return line like recommended. it takes like 2 hours tops (even w/ beer breaks).
For the oil feed line you can use a T fitting and still retain your stock sensor.
