OK so a Toyota 4Runner runs a red light and hits my passenger door and quarter panel. The passenger door now will not open from the inside or outside. Any suggestions on what i can try to do to get it open and also what am I gonna need to fix what is damaged as far as the lock assembly? Thanks.

 

Remove as much of your door panel from the inside and kick the door out, or if you can manage to pry the lock assy. out then do that to help you out. The door and quarter are destroyed anyway so you might as well have some fun getting it open.

 

weld all the doors shut, and paint it orange and go Dukes of Hazzard with it....

So I will need a whole new lock assembly to replace it i suppose....any one know what it consists of?

 

You will need an entire door brother, and most probably the remote lock assembly, you will have to look at it and see if its damaged. I would take a guess and say the hinge is damaged also. Take a trip to the junkyard, or contact aliga here on the forum.

 

Yes i know the door obviously, i just wanted to know what are the components of the lock assembly are.

 

Pretty much a latch with cables hanging out of it.
