ive looked for threads but my head lights have a leak somewhere and i dont now what to do, hw would i reseal it or would i need to buy new one and how to i make it clear again?
So do you just lay down a bead of silicone sealant along where the old "gasket" is and just let it dry and then install it? I just got an SC the other day and I want to reseal them (and the tail lights) after I clean them up to get the yellowing off, and don't really want a bunch of goop all over my body panels if I can help it. I guess I'll have to play with how thick of a bead to lay down to keep them sealed.
You can clear it with some light sanding and polishing, or via polishing alone with the proper techniques (there are many threads)
as for resealing headlights, I recommend an automotive butyl or at the very least, a very high temperature rated silicone, as there are many (especially retrofitters) who stray away from silicone since it is prone to release murky fumes that fog up the headlight over time
yes. Do what he said. If you want to thoroughly clean put them in the oven at like 350 degrees for like three minutes, pull the housing off the headlight covers then take off all of the glue stuff. Clean it a lot, then reseal with silicone.
