so your going to paint them? red emblems would look ok on a red car... but black would be the ultimate

You could use those but I went with all Dupli Color products. Remember your going to want gloss black if you want the emblems to shine a little like mine.

Here is a tutorial for 'black pearl' emblems. IMO black pearl looks more OEM than gloss black, but to each their own. I could not find the paint he used at a local hobby shop, so I had to order it over the internet and spent 2 weeks waiting for it.

And DON'T FORGET to primer! PRIMER PRIMER PRIMER. I forgot to do this (since it was my first time spraypainting something) and everything turned out bubbly and unneat. Which does not bode well with my SC-OCD-ness. The emblems are currently mounted, but once I get a steady flow of cash I'm buying new emblems and doing them the right way.

The black pearl does look very nice but my only concern is the front emblem chipping the paint off. Mine have still been fine from all the rocks hitting it in the front so just have to go with what color you want the most. Either way it should turn out very good.

I haven't had any problems with the Tamiya paint so far.

And you're right. Amini9, you could paint your emblems lime green if you want to, though I wouldn't recommend it. We're always here to lend a hand.

I would say any sandpaper will do. You can just use a fine grit and it will only leave light streaks on the emblems but not really noticeable. Your just scuffing them up so the primer will stick and then eventually whatever paint you decide.

Decided to stop by my auto store (Kragen) and I get the two spray cans, sandpaper, and tape. I go to the cashier and he said that I had to be 18 (only 16..). So, I guess it might be a while until I can get 2 spray cans.

bummer.

That's what happened to me, but I knew the manager pretty well since she helped me a few times and I got away with it. I'm 17.

Revive.

quick question if someone can answer.

So i got all the parts, and i did everything, just put on the primer, how many strokes of the black should i put? it put like.. 3-5 (one and back would be 1) strokes on each badge.

Now some of them look like they are dripping :/

So how many strokes of black? enough to get it LOOK black when its wet?
