Default 92 SC400 - Water Pump Problem???

Hi all,

well it appears that we have a leaking water pump.

The 2 typical signs, growling noise and coolant leaking; and the engine runs well.

BUT; there is lots of coolant leaking, and it appears to be coming from a variety of places, like inside the crank cover, and up way to high.

My concern is that I take this baby in, and pay $300 minimum labor to have the pump changed out; just to find that there is coolant leaking from a disastrous failure of ???????

Oil and coolant color is fine.

Should I compression test her cylinders?

What else should I do to diagnose this deal?

It is tight in front of this engine.

How can I figure out what is going on?

Thanks in advance!

If you know for sure its your water pump leaking, save you alot of time and money and DIY. I can send you the step by step instructions. I understand if you dont have time. Just trying to save you some money. Is it leaking between the motor and trans under the car? Be more precise in exactly where. What all is getting wet?
