Default I envied the IS?

So, scooting along at 80 on the interstate, a black on black IS blew past me.
First thought: holy crapface, that guy must have been doing 100.
Second thought: I envy the newer cars because mine is old, blah blah.

I have a 92 SC300 and even considering the 'new age' soul of a 1992 car, I wished I had a newer one. So, CL members...what am I missing? Does this mean I am bored with the SC?!

i feel the same. but i realized that if i bought a newer car those feelings wouldnt go away. simply because 2 years later a new model will come out and id soon envy that lol its a sick cycle that will never end... unless either two things happen 1.) i become rich and buy a car every 3 years or 2.) just not think about it lol

Get a common car and drive it for a while. When you get back to the SC you'll enjoy it sooo much more

That's what I did. Now I've got a 99 Civic and a 97 Miata. After these two, sitting in the SC makes me feel like a million bucks

LOL! I'm thankful I have a manual. I second that question.

The only thing I envy about the IS is that it's a 4 door and it has factory HIDs.

IS300 is not that great, I had 1 auto and 1 5speed with LSD.
However, I have had 10 SCs! Can't love the IS much like I do on SC!

Form a non-biased view, you should envy the IS300. I've had my SC for 6 yrs and my IS300 was only here for 8 months and I miss it like nothing I've ever had. Every time I see one I debate buying it, but the IS300 is old to ME because it is also a discontinued car now and I've already had one, so I look higher in the food chain every time I look for another IS. Stock though, the SC looks just as good. Modded however the IS300 I had was the **** once the RMM and Vizage stuff went on.

Given the right price though..... hell yes I'd buy another one in a heartbeat.

Same spot, both cars.

^ Cleaned the parking lot lines out of that one in photoshop.

In 2024 that 2008 IS would be just another car on the road nothing real Special Design Wise but Your 92 SC would always be a Classic because of it's cutting edge Design

You guys are right! the SC's are timeless.

If you ask the common person to guess what year a 1992 sc300 is, they'll always guess a newer year.

It'd be nice, to have a newer car, because of dependability and less maintenance but that car note is something i wouldn't like a part of my budget.

if you're auto, convert to stick! you'll love it even more!
