My IS 250 was the first brand new car I ever purchased. It was the car the introduced me to Lexus quality. I'd love to own another again but between helping my gf through nursing school and thoughts of purchasing my new home its just a dream...

However, i love my SC too. There arent many 15+ year old cars that i can say.. damn, that looks good!

ISXX0's run amuck; SC's do not. Not only is it rare, but it's a real head turner. I've gotten many compliments on my 1995, with several people thinking that it was a 2005+.

If you want something new, then just get a new mod! Throw in a turbocharger or sell some of your old mods and replace them with some new ones. It always keeps the car fresh.

for the price you pay for the sc and amount of looks you get out of it, the 1st gen IS will always get beat by an sc. there's not a whole lot of cars priced under $5k that gets a whole lot of attention when done right. sc's won't lose appeal for at least another 3-5 years.

I dont know about the IS but I do certainly envy other cars out there other than the SC. But I will never part with my SC. I did most of the work on it myself so I really appreciate everything Ive done for it. I hope to get an 04+ LS430 or an 01+ Mercedes S-Class. Preferably an S55AMG.

So the IS is 400 lbs lighter than my SC4 but only has 215 h.p. &218 flbs. It is newer but ,Ive heard the build quality is not the same.

Soooo true... it's a glorified civic, I'd take an SC over the IS any day...

We are always complaining about the heft of our doors, so it sounds like the IS door is light?

I think some of you guys are off with your comparision of the IS as a glorified civic. The build quality of my IS was far from a civic and better than the G35 I owned afterwards.

Yeah, I have a manual R154, with a 1JZ dynoed at 340 hp , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QE7OxWeVT4w ,just me wanting to grow up a bit I suppose. I like the boxiness of the IS. I do understand how the SC overall with everything considered could be a better car, but the IS's just catch my eye everytime.

Perhaps one day I'm destined to own an Audi R6 stationwagon with 572bhp...

Should of got the v160/161 and 2jz-gte.

My sc came with a w58 5 speed, I would feel weird swapping in another 5spd, knowing i could get a 6spd. Same with the 1jz, i would feel like i am downgrading the car.
