I guess I should explain that having your exhaust on the opposite of your fuel door helps reduce that risk of spilling and possibly starting a fire by keeping the exhaust as far from open fuel as possible. I dont think weight is an issue, these arent formula1 cars.
If the exhaust exiting opposite of the gas door was such an issue, then cars that have dual exhausts would have to be filled from somewhere in the middle. Obviously this is a non-issue in these cars, since we have dual exhaust from the factory. The risk of spilling fuel is the same if you have a dual exhaust, or if you have a single running under the fuel door.

While I concur that weight is not a huge issue in these cars, as they weigh 3500-3600lbs from the factory, if you've got the option to optimize the weight distribution for practically free (assuming that mounting exhaust on the left or the right costs the same amount), I don't see a reason not to do so.

I agree with what you're saying. Makes total sense

I bought my car with a single driver exit and I never bother wondering why. The only reason I can think of it is because the supra exits on the driver side too? Either way I would perfer to have a dual, just looks better.

Ok so i know that this thread is about single but does anyone have a pic of really nice duals.I dont know which to go with.I like the single but i like the duals at the same time and i dont know witch one to go with.If i go with single i am going to go with custom or hks.But if i go with dual i think i am going to go with tanabe or blitz or custom.
What do you guys think i should go with i also looking for some what style.
I also have the old style rear bumper.I see some single exit exhaust the looks good with that bumper but i think that the duals looks some what better on the old bumper. But i think duals sound a little bit quieter and the single is louder. witch is what i was looking for.Does anyone have a video clip of duals that are loud on a na motor.THANKS.

What style muffler are you going for? I personally like big shiny mufflers with long extended tips. I used to be into huge race canister types with titanium tips. If you search around you'll find a couple exhaust picture threads with some nice ideas for you.

I was in the same position as you...took me over a year to find the right exhaust and to decide to go single or dual:

Here is a post I found that has more single exits: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...aust-exit.html

As for me I decided to go with the Magnaflow Race series mufflers #14828

I plan to change them soon to the Magnaflow Race Series #14851 after I seen them on this SC, looks really clean:
