Just got my car up and running and back on the road. The last two times I filled up my tank from empty, the gas needle doesnt go to the Full position. It goes to the next stick below Full. Anyone know what is going on? Prior to that I filled up the tank in the summer, and it was in the body shop for a month. I attached a pic twenty miles after I filled up the tank. Yesterday when I filled up, the needle was in between the 4th stick and E, it was approximately 13.3 gallons Premium .Thanks
Yea but when i fill it up, I topped it off so much that gas was almost coming out. Last week I put 15 gallons in it and it was topped off but didnt go to the full stick
These cars have 20.6 gallon tanks. The reason alot of ya'll aren't filling up to that much is simply because you top it off before it gets to empty.
Those who have the needles that don't go all the way up. That's been covered before. Gotta search for that. I personally wait till the little light comes on to tell me I'm low, then I go fill her up. When the light comes on, I know I have about 2-3 gallons left. And low and behold, when I fill her up it says I filled 17-18 gallons. Makes sense, you have 2-3 left, you fill up 17-18. Add them up.
How many gallons are left when the little yellow light comes on?
1 post above yours.........

Gas gas gas the never ending ***** fest then people get happy I love it. Either the level sensor or your gauge could be stuck on your cluster. I am leaning towards the level sensor in the tank. If it has been sitting and the junk builds up after no use it could make the sensor stop before reaching the top. If you can look in side the tank or take the sensor out. Go in the trunk and pull away the interior. Its right under the sub.
Though I am sort of scared that the little yellow light doesn't work on my car, so I'll keep driving and I then I have no gas.
Carry a small gas tank in your trunk when you get SUPER low, that way if you do run out of gas, and the light doesn't come on, at least you can look at your mileage and guess approximately how many mpg you get, and then subtract 2x the mpg from the total distance you traveled to find out where the light is supposed to come on .
Then from that point out, use that distance as an approximate location for reference when you need to fill up . GL.
