Exclamation SC400 Badges/Emblems

Hi everyone. I have a very good friend in New Zealand, who is a Toyota Cressida enthusiast like myself. He has helped me find strange and unusual parts for my Cressida to help make it stand out here in the states. But, he was recently bitten by the Toyota/Lexus V8 bug, and, on a whim, bought himself a Toyota Soarer (aka Lexus SC400). He would, in turn, like to make his Soarer into an SC400. I would like to know, where can I purchase a set of SC400 badges IN BLACK CHROME??? His soarer is charcoal grey, and we are going with a black-out motif. Black painted 18" wheels, black chrome badges, window tint, etc. I know Beverly Hills Motoring Accessories used to carry these, but a quick search of their website turned up squat. All I have been able to find are regular chrome and gold (yick). Any help on this topic would surely be appreciated. Thanks!

You might wanna find a metal-plating shop. I had a pair of brass knuckles silver plated for free @ one by a friend.

Find a wrecked SC400 -- take the emblems off, and have the shop put the finish you want on them. It should be really cheap if you have the hookups @ the shop too.

As a matter of fact, his mother works at an electroplating facility in Auckland, but, the badges are extremely hard to come by there, and you will pay dearly if you DO find them. I also wanted to just send them to him, as he is a little hesitant to put black badges on it. He hasn't ever seen black chrome, and thinks it may look like black enamel, and thinks that may not be 'classy' enough for him. Here in Phoenix, these cars are hard to find in the boneyards, and the one place I know of that does have a couple, charges extraordinary costs, more than mail order. I guess I am just looking for a quick and easy way to order them and pay for them with my credit card any having them shipped directly to him, kind of a suprise.

13sec, could you ask him if he's be willing to sell his Soarer emblems? I'll buy the Griffin and Soarer badge if they are in one piece. If he's interested, he or you can email me at acronimbus@hotmail.com

check out www.car-part.com it's an online listing of junk yards. You should be able to find it there.... If not you could get it for 15% off from Keyes Lexus (818-379-4000) and have the parts shipped to him. Just a few ideas. and sc400, if it's gonna be a suprise, you're gonna have to wait until he finds out to get his emblems... Unless you wanted to trade or something... Hmmm

"I think you mean an apiffany, smee"

New Thought: Could we orginize a Lexus/Soarer badge exchange program with guys in Japan/Aus/UK? We give them our Lexus emblems, they give us their Soarer emblems? Which ever ones we want to keep, we buy a second one to send them so a complete set is always sent. Might be cheaper than buying a whole new set of emblems... and it's easier for them to ge soarer emblems, it's easier for us to get lexus.

Should I make this a new post? hmmm....
